How to Perform Bulk Image Upload

Modified on Tue, 14 May 2024 at 10:04 AM

Introduction

The Bulk Image Upload feature enables merchants to upload multiple images simultaneously for categories, sub-categories, and individual images. Previously, the upload process required merchants to upload images one at a time, incurring high overhead costs for both merchants and our menu team, who assist merchants with onboarding.

Performing Bulk Image Upload

The process of bulk image upload involves four steps:

Step 1:

Prepare Image Files Before initiating the upload, ensure that your images are appropriately named. This step is crucial to avoid post-upload assignments and verification tasks. To achieve this, please adhere to the following naming conventions:

Note: You can revisit these instructions on the image upload page under the 'Upload Image' popup in ECMS.

Step 2:

- Navigate to the 'Upload Images' Page and Upload Similar to the 'Upload Menu Items' option, you can access the 'Upload Images' page on the brand level (only) by navigating to 'Upload Menu' > 'Images' tab.

- Click the 'Upload Image' button to open the upload image popup, then proceed to upload images by simply dragging and dropping them. This popup also provides details on supported file types, maximum sizes, and naming conventions for your reference.

If you upload images without adhering to the correct file naming conventions or size dimensions, you may encounter errors such as:

In such cases, you will need to correct the error and then re-upload the image.

Furthermore, on this page, you can access information about previous image upload activities, including:

  • Timestamp

  • Number of images uploaded

  • Upload status

  • Uploaded images

For incomplete image uploads, you can choose to preview and save them to complete the upload or delete the upload entirely. Additionally, you have the option to filter upload activities by their status for efficient management.

Step 3:

- Review Uploaded Images

Once the upload process is complete, it's essential to review the uploaded images to ensure correct mapping. - After confirming the accuracy of the assignments, click 'Save' to finalize the bulk image upload process.

- Your upload status will be marked as 'Ready to Save,' and the 'Preview & Save' button will be active. Click 'Preview & Save' to proceed.

If the mapping fails (i.e., the system cannot identify the intended category, sub-category, or item for the image), you will receive an error message, such as 'Subcategory not found.'

In such cases, you must either delete or re-upload the image with the corrected file name to enable the system to accurately map the image to its intended destination.

Step 4:

Click 'Save' To complete the update of images to their respective destinations, click the 'Save' button.

Congratulations, your bulk image upload is now complete! You can also visit the relevant category, sub-category, or item in ECMS or the frontend app (SW / SK / ST) to review the uploaded images.
