How Split Bill Works

Even Split:

  • User's Choice:

    • The user selects the count of splits, and the system divides the total amount accordingly.

  • Freezing Splits:

    • Once the user defines the split count, it is frozen and synchronized across all users scanning the same QR code for the same session.

Custom Split:

  • User-Paid Share:

    • Users define their payment amounts, and an open field allows for customization.

  • Adding Tips:

    • Users can add tips to their payment amounts.

  • Soft Identifier:

    • Users provide their names as soft identifiers to track individual payments.

  • Real-time Updates:

    • The merchant console displays real-time information about users and their respective payments.

  • Multiple Payments:

    • Users can make additional payments if needed.

  • Settlement:

    • Payment is settled with the Point of Sale (POS) only when the total payment is collected. Partial payments are not sent to the POS.

Checking Partial Payments

  • Partial payments are visible only on the Merchant Console (MC).

  • As customers make partial payments, the information is updated and displayed on the Merchant Console.

Refunding Partial Payments

  • Access Transactions:

    • Select the transaction for which you want to initiate a refund.

  • Action Button:

    • Click on the action button located on the side of the selected transaction.

  • Choose Refund Type:

    • Choose between Full and Partial refund amounts.

  • Confirmation:

    • Click "Continue" to confirm the refund

By following these steps, you can easily enable Split Bill on SmartPay, understand how it works, check partial payments, and initiate refunds when necessary. Enjoy the flexibility and simplicity of splitting bills with SmartPay!
